Division Overview
Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) engages in the design and manufacture of a wide variety of products used by utilities. Today, HPS is deeply engaged in product solutions for OSP Communication utility purposes, and has been actively growing that segment of the business. HPS roots have historically been in high voltage transmission, distribution, substation, underground products used by electric utilities. HPS products are also used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries.

Responsibilities include assisting with product completion by adjusting and assembling materials. This is a labor-intensive position that requires careful attention to detail. A Day In The Life

Includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Follow Company safety and break policies, work in a safe manner, follow directions, and wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Immediately report any unsafe activity or accident to the area Supervisor.
  • Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, manufacturing drawings, bills of material or other written instructions or procedures.
  • Perform heavy manual labor required to manipulate and adjust materials.
  • Responsible for the quality of the assemblies produced. Perform first piece inspection and subsequent inspections to ensure overall quality
  • Maintain inventory of product in workstations
  • Operate functional area equipment in a safe and efficient manner
  • Maintain safety, quality, productivity and keeping the work area neat and clean
  • Report any safety problems, hazards, accidents and near misses to management
  • Other duties as assigned
    What will help you thrive in this role?
    • Must wear safety equipment, i.e. safety glasses, work boots, protective gloves, and ear plugs where necessary
    • Able to lift up to 35 pounds - Maximum lifting policy is 35 pounds
    • Ability to work in a team environment or individually to conduct product completion
    • Ability to stand, sit, stoop or bend, reach above shoulders up to 25% of time
    • Ability to use basic hand tools, i.e. wrenches, gages, bolts
    • Perform repetitive tasks, ability to stand, sit, stoop, reach above the shoulders
    • Possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together accurately
    • Have the stamina to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the workday
